Marianne Glittenberg - Stage/Costume Designer
Biography
Marianne Glittenberg studied first German and musicology. As a costume designer she worked for many theatres (drama) in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Recently for instance, she designed the costumes for WAITING FOR GODOT at Théâtre Vidy in Lausanne as well as for LOT-PHANTASIE and DIE MÖWE at the Vienna Festival, both produced by Luc Bondy with whom she has been working together for a long time already. Other important producers for her are Jürgen Flimm, George Tabori, Johannes Schaaf, Luca Ronconi, Hans Neuenfals and in recent seasons especially Sven-Eric Bechtolf with whom she realized several productions at Burgtheater Vienna, Deutsche Oper Berlin and Zürich Opera House.
At Salzburg Festival, Marianne Glittenberg created the costumes for DER BAUER ALS MILLIONÄR, DAS MÄDL AUS DER VORSTADT, DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE, DIE FRAU OHNE SCHATTEN, L’INCORONAZIONE DIE POPPEA and DON GIOVANNI.
For further opera projects she collaborated with Hamburg State Opera (WOZZECK, FIDELIO, LULU, LES CONTES D’HOFFMANN), the Vienna State Opera (DER FERNE KLANG), Deutsche Oper Berlin (LES CONTES D’HOFFMANN, TANNHÄUSER), Zürich Opera House (FIDELIO, LULU, OTELLO, DIE TOTE STADT, DER ROSENKAVALIER), De Nederlandse Opera Amsterdam (COSÌ FAN TUTTE, LE NOZZE DI FIGARO), Théâtre La Monnaie Brussels (L’INCORO-NAZIONE DI POPPEA with Luc Bondy and Erich Wonder, PELLÉAS ET MÉLISANDE), Stuttgart State Opera (HÄNSEL UND GRETEL, DIE SACHE MAKROPULOS) and conductors such as Sir Georg Solti, Christoph von Dohnanyi, Lorin Maazel, Gerd Albrecht, Sylvain Cambreling, Nikolaus Harnoncourt and Franz Welser-Möst.
Future engagements a.o.: PELLÉAS ET MÉLISANDE, DON GIOVANNI and LE NOZZE DI FIGARO at Zürich Opera House; ARABELLA at Vienna State Opera.
